No matter how modern you are or how innovative your thinking is; if it is all about Religion, Dharma, God, and Devotion; we Indians go beyond everything. Today, our prime topic of discussion is the Homecoming of Maryada Purushottam Ram, the Yugapurush, and Sarvottam Purush to Ayodhya, the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. After all the havoc and settlement, Ayodhya Ram Mandir is all set to be inaugurated on the 22nd of January 2024 by our honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji.

Legendary Homecoming of Maryada Purushottam Ram in Ayodhya (Diwali Celebration)

We all have read Ramayana and are aware that Shri Ram had returned to Ayodhya with his wife Sita and brother Laxman after a long 14 years of exile. He had to take a long and tough way to return to his homeland because of the exilement and the abduction of his loving wife Sita by the ravenous Demon King, Lord Ravana.  He had returned to Ayodhya on the evening of Diwali in defecting the Demon King, Ravana. To celebrate his return the villagers of Ayodhya lit hundreds of thousands of clay lamps and dispelled the darkness.

To date, we Hindus celebrate the day, the auspicious homecoming moment of Lord Rama as the Day of Lights, Diwali in various parts of India including Ayodhya. Very soon, today’s Ayodhya, UP, will listen to the chants of Jai Shri Ram with the inauguration of Ayodhya Ram Mandir and we all will witness the mesmerizing moment of “The Homecoming of Ram” in Ayodhya, the Janmabhoomi of Rama with all pomps, glory, and grand celebrations.

Many Folds of Ayodhya Ram Mandir Tales – Time to Unfold

The Journey to Ayodhya Temple has been soaked with faith, hope, bloodshed, and controversy, and these are not hidden. Thus, doubtlessly, the inauguration of Ram Mandir will be a historic moment for all of us, and it will etched in golden ink on the pages of History for upcoming generations.

So, on the pious moment of Ram’s homecoming Ayodhya with the new temple construction, Curious Kasturi is all set to proffer you new information that requires only a few minutes of your precious time. And, believe us, your reading is worth the time.

A Temple of Remarkable Resilience

Today’s Ayodhya Ram mandir was established by King Dasharatha, father of Lord Ram. To date, the temple has endured so many invasions and socio-political upheavals. Still, it is standing holding its head high and demonstrating its resilience spirit, and honor that we all praise by heart.

Monarchial Past of Ayodhya – Monarchs to Morality

Ayodhya was once the capital of the Kosala Kingdom. The city has witnessed different kingdoms, from Ikshvaku and Harisshchandra to Raghu and Raja Dashrath. The city has been carrying out so many things, from glories to challenges, wars to justice, and honor to commitment throughout the decades.

Manu’s Connection

It is believed that Manu, the first human in Hindu scriptures, established the footing of Ayodhya.

Jain Mosaic in Ayodhya

According to Jain Tradition, the city witnessed the birth of five respected Tirthankaras of the Jain religion. Thus, the city carries the richest historical and spiritual diversity and strengthens its glory for Hinduism across India and the globe.

Babri Masjid Genesis

It is said that one of the generals of Babar built a Mosque in Ayodhya during the domination of northeast India and named it Babri-Masjid. However, there is a controversy on the construction whether the mosque was constructed on the toppled site of the Ayodhay temple or built after the demolition of the temple.

Babri Masjid Demolition – A Tempestuous Chapter in Indian History

Followed by many conventional echoes that support the presence of Ram Mandir before the establishment of the Babri Masjid, in 1992, the demolition of Babri Masjid took place. And, the demolition has marked a deep wound in India’s socio-political tapestry with so many aftershocks which are felt still today.

Political Turmoils and Awaking Tension

The demand for the re-establishment of Ram Mandir was on the rise from the beginning of 1980. The country experienced an intensified push for the re-construction of Ram Mandir on the verge of 1990 enforced by the Bharatiya Janata Party. On 6th December 1992, an unexpected incident took place in the Janmabhoomi of Rama. over 150,000 mobs gathered near the mosque and took the matter into their hands. Instead of a stationed police cordon around the Babri Masjid, the security measures were thrashed out and by the end of the day, the historic Babri Masjid ceased to exist.

Far-Reaching Demolition Aftermaths

However, the demolition of the Babri Masjid was not the end; rather it was the beginning of a far-reached tragedy. India had experienced communal riots followed by the tragic end of thousands of lives and intercommunal riots between Indian Hindus and Muslims. The consequence of the demolition was seen by Hindus in Pakistan as well as in Bangladesh.

Investigation, Legal Proceedings and Judicial Verdict

Following the turmoils caused by the demolition of the Babri Mosque, the government of India took rapid steps to investigate the real matter behind the demolition. On December 16, 1992, the Union Home Ministry of India launched an official inquiry following the establishment of the Liberhan Commission. The Commission was tasked to examine the whole circumstances and collect pieces of evidence to identify whether the incident was premeditated or not. However, after 399 sittings over 16 years, it was reported that the event in Ayodhya was premeditated.

Verdict by the Judiciary of India

Finally, the day to verdict had come. After three decades of battles in courts, on 30th September 2020, the verdict was delivered by the special court and it cleared all the thirty-two accused due to the lack of evidence. Moreover, the judge declared the demolition was not the consequence of a premeditated plan.

Beginning of New Historical Era of Culture & Heritage

With the verdict by the special court, the legal battle started to simmer down. On the other side, the emphasis on the reconciliation of heritage and cultural revival became on the rise.

Revival of Ram Mandir with Architectural Evolution

The origin of Ram Mandir’s design is deeply rooted in the artistic exertions of the Sompura family from Ahmedabad. In 2020, the Sompura family reviewed the original Ram Mandir design (1988) and instructed certain design transformations that are deeply connected to the Hindu scriptures and followed the strict regulations of Vastu Shastra and Shilpa Shatra.

Design & Dimension of New Ram Mandir

The evolution of the Ram Mandir design follows grand dimensional changes. The spanning of this new temple is 235 feet in width, 360 feet in length, and 161 feet in height. With these grand dimensions, New Ayodhya Ram Mandir will become the 3rd lather Hindu Shrine in the world. The mandir aesthetic heavily resembles the architectural style of the North Indian Gujara-Chaulukya architecture.

Milestone Ceremony of Ram Mandir

In 2020, August, the honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi Ji marked the commencement of Ayodhya Ram Mandir with glory and shine in laying the foundation stone for reconstruction. That was the day of inception, and 22nd January 2024 will be the day of a new beginning for the devotees of Ram and Hindu pilgrims in the pious land of Ayodhya, the Janam Bhoomi of Shri Ram.

Grand Opening Day of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya & Revival of Tourism

As we have notified earlier in the post, the grand opening of Ayodhya Ram Mandir will take place on 22nd January 2024. According to the sources, special bricks imprinted with the words “Jai Shree Ram” have been embodied into the design of the temple.

It is also believed that with the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the city will experience a rise in its tourism realm. With the arrival of devotees and pilgrims, local tourism will have a potential boost followed by a surge in tourist spots in Ayodhya. It is also anticipated that Ayodhya will not only experience uncounted footprints of national tourists and pilgrims but also international tourists and devotees who are eagerly waiting for the day of the inauguration of the Ram Mandir of Ayodhya, the land of Shri Ram and his devotees irrespective of caste, dogma, culture, belief, and religion.
